U-verse is excellent when properly installed and AT&T; says there will be more improvements. I like it very well.

Great for you. Your experience was a rare one.

They had my battery for nearly two months. After promises of new cells were to arrive any day, they told me my battery was irreparable and would issue a refund.

That was two weeks ago. No refund as of yet. After several phone calls, I have yet to get thru or to have my calls returned.

Just google "batteryrefill.com" to witness the sundry users they've taken advantage of.

My refilled battery is working great! I would still recommend refilling the battery, but knowing that there is a chance that it may not work.

From what I understand about Lithium Ion battery cells, which is what most laptop batteries are made of, it is possible that keeping that battery out might prolong its life. I've heard that batteries should be stored at 40-60% of their full charge if you do this.

However, Lithium Ion batteries also start to degrade right after they are manufactured. So I'm not sure that leaving the battery out will help much as far as prolonging the battery.

There are many different opinions on batteries. I would say that even if you get the batteries refilled, I would only expect the battery to last about 2 years.

Just curious, how is your 'refilled' battery working now that it's several months into its new life? I've got to replace mine now. Also, my father-in-law read that if you are using your laptop primarily plugged in, you should keep your battery out most of the time. Any truth to that? I'm finding lots of different opinions. Thanks!

I just cancelled my AT&T; U-Verse and switched back to Time Warner cable on 6/9/2008.
I am a ham radio operator and constantly had probelems with RF getting into the residential gateway.
i did not have interference problems with Time Warner before the switch to ATT U-verse and i do not have thme since i switched back to time warner.
The AT&T; U-verse equipemt appears to be operating in the frequency range that hams use know as HF. this plus the fact that their equipment it not adequately filtered causes problems. i had several techs out and we noticed that when RF got into the the gateway, error counts would go into the millions. what is strange is that the error counts kept going up by the millions even when all ham radio equipment was turned off. their concept is interesting, but the design is flawed. we tried all the usual things that hams do to minmuze this interference like grounding everything, applying boat loads of ferrite beads on everything, but in the end the design flaw was too much to overcome.
