There remains for us only the very narrow way, often extremely difficult to find, of living every day as though it were our last, and yet living in faith and responsibility as though there were to be a great future...

Rediscovering UNIX

In the last few days, I’ve decided that I need to get back into using UNIX again. I’ve been using Windows for too long. I started to think about this as I was doing some web design, and realized that most things I’m seeing in terms of blogging applications and such use PHP and MYSQL. I even noticed that the facebook API uses PHP5.

I’ve begun to look at dedicated server offerings, in the “bargain bin” section of well-known providers. We will see who comes out ahead. Because I also want to host all my web customers on it, it needs to have a fast connection to networks local in my area.

If you know of any dedicated server hosting companies that are reasonable, let me know.
