There remains for us only the very narrow way, often extremely difficult to find, of living every day as though it were our last, and yet living in faith and responsibility as though there were to be a great future...

Away from blogging

I’ve been away from blogging for a little while. Lots has happened, with switching over to working on 2nd shift, to do system testing. I’m halfway through my master’s degree course, and am working very hard on it.

I’ll probably resume when the creative bug hits me enough to start reading theology books and posting about them again.

Does anyone who reads this have any recommendations who develop Bonhoeffer’s concept of “God of the Gaps” and “deus ex machina” any further?

One recommendation for my readers: OpenOffice has come a long way. I’d suggest if you need an office application suite, and you don’t want to pay for Microsoft Office, OpenOffice is at a point where it is very usable. I just used it this week at work on the recommendation of a co-worker, and found that their “Base” application, which acts like Microsoft Access, worked just fine for me. I connected to an Access database, and was able to edit a table. I couldn’t get to the forms and macros, but hey, that was a huge leap forward.
