There remains for us only the very narrow way, often extremely difficult to find, of living every day as though it were our last, and yet living in faith and responsibility as though there were to be a great future...

Any Christian Shortwave Stations worth listening to?

I’ve become interested in radio again, I think because it is an outlet for me after a long day. It is a nice hobby to be able to sit back and spin the dial, and see what happens to be on. Besides doing my Air Force MARS activity, I started to look around for shortwave stations. From what I’ve found, there is not much on shortwave worth listening to, in terms of Christian programming. It seems like all the herb sellers, conspiracy theorists, and militia groups have quite a few programs on the stations I was listening to.

Last night I had a pleasant surprise, tuning the dial to 7.355MHz, which turns out to be “Angel 2″ on the World Harvest Radio network. I immediately heard Margaret Becker’s “Say the Name”. That is one of my favorite songs that she sings. After that song, there was another one by Casting Crowns (side note: quite a few people have told me that they produce good music; one of these days I’ll actually try and listen to their music). So I was happy to hear Margaret Becker at least, since she is one of my favorite artists.

Then, I spun the dial and heard Family Radio. Let’s just say that I disagree with them and leave it at that.

So I’m left wondering, are there any good Christian stations out there that have more mainline programs, and good music programming? I guess I’ll listen more to World Harvest Radio as their programming seems more promising.
